Photo of Martin Jakob StorrowBiography of Martin Jakob Storrow:

One evening at a rural college in Ohio, Jakob Martin unexpectedly found himself on stage in front of a completely male audience. Knowing his set for the night consisted mostly of love songs, Jakob singled out the one girl in the room and said, "Every song I play tonight is for her."

"Watch out; her boyfriend is here," someone heckled. Without skipping a beat, Martin replied: "In that case, every song I play is for HIM."

Tenacity and charisma have helped Jakob Martin earn recognition as a world class entertainer and a compelling performer. Martin's ability to move an audience, combined with a powerful voice and thoughtful lyrics, have contributed to his growing reputation as one of the hottest up-and-coming singer/songwriters on the West Coast.

In 2005, as an undergraduate at UC San Diego, Martin won an all-campus talent search, which inspired him to further pursue his passion for music. Since then, the twenty-five year old has played over 500 concerts across the United States, shared the stage with artists such as Ryan Cabrera, Glen Phillips, Ari Hest, Blues Traveler, and Hellogoodbye, released three records, and sold over 7000 copies of his recordings, all as an unsigned artist. Jakob's music has often been compared with John Mayer, Billy Joel, and Bob Dylan, and he has built a loyal fan base numbering into the thousands.

Jakob's latest record, City of the Nameless EP, was released in April, and features guest performances by several renown artists, including Flogging Molly's Matt Hensley, and Brodeeva (G. Love, Santana, Smokey Robinson collaborators).

Jakob tours relentlessly, and has recently launched a viral campaign (The 50k challenge) designed to reach 50,000 new fans by August 30, 2010. For more information, visit here.
